Week 8

Day 1: John 7:1-24

Lord Jesus, the Jews marveled at Your learning despite no formal education. (v.15) How easily some missed that You are from above and we are from below!  How easily I fall into a similar trap today. May I simply marvel at Who You Are.  The Word made flesh, the Light of the World, the One Full of Grace and Truth, the Living Water, the Bread of Life… You heal invalids and rule the sea of chaos.  Oh Lord!  You are worthy of all praise and honor and glory.

Day 2: John 7:25-31

Dear Jesus, how the people think they know You!  What a warning for me!  Lord, Your ways are ever higher than my own.  Who can comprehend You?  May I humbly believe and submit to Your ways and never cease to marvel at Who You Are.

Lord, when some saw the signs that You had done, many believed.  Please help ________ to believe and receive Your gift of salvation.

Day 3: John 7:32-39

Lord God, Isaiah declares, “With joy, you will draw water from the wells of salvation.”  And Jesus, You are that marvelous well of salvation.  You call, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.”  Oh Lord, with joy, I come and drink! Thank You for Your Living Water!  So pure and clean and full of life!  You refresh and renew!

Jesus, I give you ________.  May she/ he ever drink deep knowing the joy of Your salvation.

Day 4: John 7:40-52

Lord, the officers had it right, “No one ever spoke like this man!”  You are the Word made flesh.  You dwelt with man and showed us Your glory.  Glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

I lift up _______ (my pastors, teachers, missionaries), who boldly proclaim Your Word.  May their words come from the Living Water that bubbles forth from within their hearts so that what is spoken is always full of Your grace and truth.

Day 5: Review

Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.”

With joy I draw water from the wells of salvation.  And still today I say:

“Give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted. “Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the earth. Shout, and sing for joy, O inhabitant of Zion, for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.”  – Isaiah 12:2-4
